We're happy to announce a major VMware infrastructure upgrade on our network. All VMware hosts and vps will be upgraded (100% of our vps are VMware based). As a result of this upgrade, vps clients will experience significant performance increase. According to VMware benchmarks, an upgrade from version 6.5 to 6.7 increases performance twofold, reduces memory usage threefold, latency getting reduced at least 3x. Upgrades from older versions will offer much more gains, at least 4x-5x performance increase.
Moreover, we will be upgrading VMware automatic provisioning module. Current module will be replaced completely with a more powerful, faster alternative with more extras like new templates including Windows Server 2022, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux etc.
The upgrade process will start today, June 7, 2022 and will be finished before June 12, 2022 (Sunday). During this time all vps containers will be rebooted at least once, causing downtime of approximately 1-2 minutes.
